Blog Design

Okay this is our first post on this blog and we are going to explain how our future blog will look like including the basic layout, special features and the overall design. So let's get start with the layout.

Blog layout

So this image below is the basic idea of what our blog looks like. It has blog title on the top, different sidebars on the left and right on the middle is our post. However, we made some change on this when actually designing the blog. We added some extra sidebars such as "Links for Websites and Videos" and "Labels" which we will use to put up some links to some popular food channel or blogs and make it more user-friendly to viewers by providing the labels for our posts. As we add more posts, we will probably change some other features as well.
                                                                     

Design and colour

The idea here is that we will set a black image as the background and make the post background and sidebar background transparent and then make text colour white so that it can easily stand out. As for blog title and post title, they will be dark red as well as subtitles on our posts. So the basic colour on our blog will be black, white and red which we can see that we are trying to make it look simple but still fancy.

Edit: Switching to a recipe book theme. It's more fitting with our subject matter, and is very creatively laid out. We have facebook, twitter and RSS integrated buttons too! 

Font and post structures

The fonts for post title and text will be Times New Roman and Arial respectively. For the blog title, we are going to get a special font that will look a bit "clumsy" because as you can see, the title is "WeCannotCook" so that makes sense lol. Based on the topic we chose, the post content will be the descriptions about the specific dishes we cooked. So the post structure will be the combination of pictures of our dishes and text. We will also integrate 'tags' that fit our dishes so that people can use the search function or find relevant articles via the keyword tag box.

So these are our basic ideas on how the blog will look like and of course we will change some of the ideas as we add more posts on the blog.
