Epic Chocolate Cake

Okay this is my first time cooking a cake and it was so much fun. So this article is suppose to provide some information on what ingredients you need to make a cake and how to make it. However I will also share some of my "failure experiences" with you so that you would not make the same mistakes as I did. So here we go!

 Ingredients that are needed:

1. Cake mix and frosting mix
2. Three eggs

3. 250ml milk
4. 60ml vegetable oil
5.40g soft butter
6. Additional material to decorate such as strawberries, mallow bakes, beetroot&mint dip

Procedure 1: For Cake

Step 1: Preheat and Mix

Preheat your oven to 180 degree Celsius.Get a cake pan and baking paper.

Cut the baking paper and fit it in the bottom of the pan. (My baking paper didn't work well so I had to use a lot of it.)

Get a bowl, a glass of milk (250ml), three eggs and vegetable oil, cake mix and an electric mixer beat (since I don't have one I just did it manually).

Then just put everything into the bowl and mix them by using the mixer beat. If you use an electric one, beat on low speed for 30 seconds and increase speed to medium and mix for 3 minutes.( It looked a bit gross to me at the beginning but after mixing for a while it looked more like the way it should be. Here is the tips, if you use a manual mixer beat like me, you will just have to mix for a long time because there will still be some dry material stuck on the bottom of the bowl when it seems to be done.)

Put some oil into it and continue to mix. (The oil I used is lemon oil with 35% alcohol because I thougt I chocolate would go well with lemon and bit of alcohol. But it turned out that I just put too much of it after I tried the cake and it tasted like a lemon cake =P So keep it in mind that the oil will have a big impact to your cake and do not pour too much of it.)

Step 2: Bake

IMG3336A.jpg

After you finish mixing, pour it into the pan and put it into the oven you preheated. It takes 40 to 45 minutes to bake it. After it is baked let it cool for 5 minutes for taking it out. (okay here is a stupid mistake I made in this step: the pan I chose was made of soft plastic material and after it was heated for 10 minutes it began melting! It was a disaster :( )

So I was going to give up but then I found out that microwave could be used to cook cake. Then I just put it in and it took 15 minutes before it was baked and it was a bit burned actually.

IMG3346A.jpg

Then I took it out and placed it in a big plate. So my experience is that you do not have to cook your cake in an oven, just out into the microwave. It takes less than 15 minutes.

Procedure 2: For Frosting

Step 3:Mix For Frosting

IMG3347A.jpg

To do this, we have to get frosting mix, milk (around 100ml), a bowl and a mixer beat.

IMG3351A.jpg

To mix them, using electric mixer beat on low speed for 30 seconds and increase speed to high and mix for 3 minutes.( If you don't have that electric one it will just take more time to mix them.)

‍Step 4: Decorating the Cake

IMG3354A.jpg

Cover your cake with frosting you just made by using a knife. It should be like this when you finish.

IMG3365A.jpg

If you want some additional decorations on the cake, you may want to use to add some strawberries and mallow bakes to it. ( I know, the cake looks kind of creepy here =P )

Then just cut the strawberry in half and place it to the cake so that they can stick to it. If you think it's not "tacky" enough you may want to put some mallow bakes and add
beetroot&mint dip in the middle.

So I'm finished. It looks good doesn't it. But I didn't taste or had anyone taste it because I think I mixed it with a little wax paper when I first cook it in the oven and it was a bit burned.
Anyway, this is how I cooked a cake for the first time and thanks for reading it and hope you won't make the same mistakes as I did.
